Rodents and disease

Setting the record straight…Rodents are NOT KNOWN to transmit Coronavirus.  According rodentologist Robert Corrigan, “If we can transmit [COVID-19] on our fingertips, then of course rats can transmit it on their feet, their fur, their tails.” But the risk of transmission is thought to be low. Meanwhile, mice and rats are known vectors other very nasty diseases — hantavirus, leptospirosis, lymphocytic choriomeningitis (LCMV), Tularemia and Salmonella. Ugh! Plus they use pee as a way to mark trails spreading germs everywhere. So, no. They should not be tolerated in your home.
